EVELYN LAU
Evelyn Lau's brilliant writing career has been studded with successes: her explosively popular autobiography,
published to international acclaim when she was just 18; her Governor-General's Award nomination at age 21,
making her the youngest person ever to be shortlisted for this prestigious honour; her searing and arresting fiction,
Fresh Girls, Choose Me, and Other Women.

This prodigious and sensitive writer gives us a window into the lives of the marginalized.
Several of her books have been translated into a dozen languages.

Her first book Runaway: Diary of a Street Kid was broadcast as a CBC-TV "Movie of the Week",
starring Sandra Oh in her first movie role.

Evelyn was named one of the most influential people in the arts by the Globe & Mail, Vancouver Magazine
and Vancouver Sun.
